Perigord Noir is amazingly beautifull!!ĥ sur 5 Reviews posted by Caroline Fourré on Sarlat village is wonderfull and has some good restaurants. Nathalie gave us some good tips of things to do. The first 3 days we had some problems with the internet but luckily they were solved. On the terrace we heard the road a bit but was no problem in the evening and at night. Late afternoon and in the evening sun on the terrace. The house has everything you need and is clean. We highly recommend Au Pré de l'Arbre for a family friendly holiday - certainly one of the best we've had. Nathalie speaks very good english (even if she doesn't think so) and was on hand to help with anything we needed and came to the rescue a couple of times during our stay. There is also a zip-wire course and a zoo within 15 minutes drive. We had a car and travelled to the many family friendly destinations all within 30-60 minutes drive - Rocamadour, Domme, La Roque, Beynac, Castelnaud and Gouffre de Padirac. Sarlat itself is very lively, friendly and entertaining (some fantastic street acts and live shows) and we where spoilt for choice when it came to restaurants.

Sarlat town is a 20 minute walk away and although this involved quite a steep hill on the way back, our 6 year old managed no problem. The pool is huge, pristine and kept at a constantly ideal 27/28 degrees - we escaped to the pool every day - especially welcome during the heatwave in our first week. The cottage was well maintained, clean and very comfortable, set in a peaceful, beautiful forest close to nature. Nathalie and Marc made us feel very welcome from the minute we booked to after we left our recent 2 week stay at Au Pr de l'Arbre. Our wooden houses are not light leisure homes, nor simple "holiday cottages", nor even improved mobile homes, they are real houses to live, handmade, with obvious ecological virtues.ĥ sur 5 Reviews posted by Rob Wilkinson on west, planted with a high forest pine forest, and, at the same time, to be very close to the town center of SARLAT, pearl of Périgord Noir (less than 15 minutes on foot). Open all year, our small village has its originality of being in the countryside, on a shady south-facing hillside.
